Blakester 101

I realized late last night when I couldn't sleep because I had so many thoughts running through my mind that I don't have to wait for a special occasion to blog. I can blog whenever and whatever I want! So if I start to get sentimental and tedious, blame it on the holidays!
This post is dedicated to Blake Aaron.

Blake loves to have fun! He jumps off the couch, slides down the cushions and tries to do everything that he sees his big bro do. He plays hide and seek which is hilarious because he says "are you" in a sing song voice meaning "where are you".

Blake won't be 2 until Jan. 5th. I always treat him older than he is because he talks so much! Maybe a lot of it only I can understand but I think his vocabulary is amazing.

Blake's favorite movie is Kung Fu Panda. He acts out his favorite scenes. When Steve says "don't cry" in the voice of Master Shifu it makes Blake really mad.

Blake loves horses. When he rode the carousel at Disneyland his body was shaking with excitement from head to toe. He loves hats and shoes and has a passion for trucks!

Blake is my crazy-haired, beautiful blue eyed baby. He is sandwiched between 2 brothers who demand a lot of my attention and Blake handles being in the middle very well.

We will keep him and celebrate him turning 2 Kung Fu Panda style!

First vacation as a party of 5

We braved the 700 mile drive from Utah to California to visit Grandpa and Grandma Rose for Thanksgiving week. It was a fun week of play for us and the kids.

Five things that I learned on this trip:
1- Blake can stay awake for an entire 11 1/2 hour car ride.
2- There is never a good time to drive through Las Vegas.
3- My kids have more fun at parks and the beach then at Disneyland (I'll attribute that to their ages).
4- The waiter at Super Mex recognized me and I haven't eaten there in 2 years.
5- We can get together with friends and it is like no time has passed at all.

Home of Napoleon

Steve's grandparents live in Preston, Idaho. We enjoy going there a couple times a year even though our kids destroy their home and spend a lot of the car ride home balling because they are sick of being in the car. Good times, good times...This trip Blake put a pile of dirt from a plant on Grandma's chair, tipped over a jar of baby food that spilled on the couch and knocked over a vase that was Grandma's mom's vase. A huge sigh of relief that a) Grandma didn't see it happen and b) it did not break. Micah managed to spend several hours not speaking to either of his Great-grandparents and Parker was all smiles and had them oohing and ahhing all afternoon. This trip was so successful, we promised we'd go back in December!

This is Halloween

Micah and Steve spent the afternoon practicing their "silly faces"
Blake headed to his first house. He learned to say "trick or treat" within a couple minutes and then when we got home and kids came to the door he would go with Steve to get it and say to them "trick or treat" and tell them goodbye.
Heaven smiled on us for 15 seconds and we got a picture of all 3 kids together.
This was when we got home after our literal 20 minutes of trick or treating. Blake would have stayed out until he couldn't feel his fingers anymore, however Micah didn't go to a single house or get any candy. He wanted no part of it.

Good Grief!

This is how successful we were at getting pictures of kids this year.

Barnyard Boo

Thanksgiving Point does this for 2 weekends the month of October. They have the regular animals to see and then different Halloween games to play and everyone gets a prize. We went last year and Micah loved it. This year both boys had a great time.

We stuck Blake on a pony and he didn't even blink! It was great.

Blake realized quickly that the balloon lady was cool and he wanted to be her helper.

They loved hearing the turkeys gobble and the geese squawk at them. It was so nice that Steve took an extra long lunch to go with us!
